Set between the Alps and the Mediterranean, the mythical riviera is an Italian name which means “coastline”. The name Côte d’Azur was given to the coast by the writer Stephen Liégeard, French lawyer, writer and poet in his book, La Côte d’azur, published in December 1887.

Our region attracted English Lords, Russian Barons, French Aristocrats, Rich Americans and Middle Eastern billionaires. Poets, Artists, Painters, fell in love with the perfume of sea air, the red rocks dropping down into the turquoise blue sea and the profusion of architectural follies of the Belle Epoque. Today’s Riviera has so much to offer you, from blue summers to luminous winters.

Our blog offers you some addresses of unusual places and events. It focuses on the jewels of the French Riviera, from Marseille to Menton. We take you off the beaten track, to discover the lush nature of our region, its mountainous trails and its golden beaches of fine sand. We also give you addresses of restaurants, places for parties and shows, and many useful tips to make your stay memorable.
